Highlights
- In general, Tankers show a better overall PSC performance compared to Bulk Carriers, as all Tankers’ KPIs are better.
- However, the important extract from the report is that some categories of Bulk Carriers show better performance than other Tankers’ categories. For example, Bulk Carriers of age less than 10 years have better detention performance than Tankers aged above 15 years. So, the most important factor for PSC performance seems to be age and not type.
- The deficiency code 06103 is the top detainable deficiency for both categories, while ISM (15199 & 15150) has a significant share to detentions.
- Emergency Generator, Loading/Ballast Condition, BNWAS and dangerous goods are some additional most common detainable deficiencies.
